Climate change is hitting the Arctic harder and faster than any other region on Earth. Although the North may seem remote, this is where the impact of human activity - sensitive ecosystems altered - is felt the most. In Episode 1, we meet international teams of scientists who are chronicling the effects of climate change on the land and its animal inhabitants. Episode 2 introduces us to some of the people engaged in an international race to pump oil and gas from beneath the melting Arctic ice. As resource extraction accelerates, the ice melts more quickly, locking us into a destructive cycle whose effects are only starting to be felt.
