Superman: On the planet Krypton nobody believes Jor-El when he tells them that the planet is doomed. So he and his wife ship their baby son on his way to Earth as the planet explodes. The baby is found by farmers and raised as their own child. As the baby grows to manhood, he learns he possesses super-powers he must hide from the ordinary mortals around him. But the time comes when Superman's powers for good are revealed to the world. Superman battles with supercriminal Lex Luthor and his cohorts as they attempt to destroy California (by activating the San Andreas fault).
Superman II: Superman has his hands full with a trio of super-powered villains who escape from their Phantom Zone prison and land on earth, where all three have powers to rival Superman's own. The villains have visions of world domination and they wreak havoc and quickly bring the earth's leaders to their knees. Superman battles the villains and restores order.
Superman III: When Gus Gorman, a genial half-wit who just happens to be a natural-born genius at computer programming, turns a computer keyboard into a deadly weapon, Superman faces the microelectronic menace of his career.
Superman IV: To make the world safe for nuclear arms merchants, Lex Luthor creates a new being to challenge Superman: the radiation-charged Nuclear Man. The two foes clash in an explosive extravaganza that sees Superman save the Statue of Liberty, plug a volcanic eruption of Mount Etna and rebuild the demolished Great Wall of China.
